An event every week that begins at 2:00 am on Thursday, repeating until June 29, 2023
This month we will be featuring 3 charities:
Love In The Trenches-To use our collective experiences to offer peer support, coping skills, recovery resources, and education to parents and siblings of those who suffer from the disease of addiction and to those who have lost a child or sibling to addiction. To raise awareness of the disease of addiction, erase the stigma associated with it, and engage in harm reduction efforts through education and activities that promote health, safety, and quality of life for those who suffer from addiction.
Community Allies of Rainbow Youth, CARY- Is a non-profit organization founded by parents/other allies of LGBTQ+ youth in Howard County. Website: www.cary-hoco.org. What do we do? Advocating for safe and affirming schools for LGBTQ+ youth and supporting all allies. Who can join? Anyone who wants to support LGBTQ+ youth! Membership is $10/yr., free for students, non-voting members, LGBTQ+ community members, and anyone who requests a waiver due to hardship.
National Alliance on Mental Illness Howard County- Mission: to improve the lives of individuals with mental illness and their families through education, advocacy and support, and to increase awareness of mental illness throughout the community. Our Goals: Advocate at the county, state and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing , education and employment for people with mental illness.
